Elena Stoyanova was born in 1979 in Sofia. She graduated from costume design at the Wimbledon School of Art in London in 2002. Since 2003 she has been working as a costume designer, production designer assistant and art director for Bulgarian and foreign film productions.

In 2007 Elena was awarded the National Film Center prize for best costumes for the films “Investigation” and “Monkeys in Winter”. In 2002 she received the Ashley Stewart award for exceptional student work in the field of the costume design.
